Meine Lieben 7.7. 1941

Hoffentlich habt Ihr Julius K. (ahn) gesprochen. Wohnen sie weit von Euch entfernt? Sage Onkel Salomon, dass Saly Marxsohn in Fa. B(aruch).

Euer Vater.

My Darlings,

Since your June 4 letter that had arrived on the 21st, I heard nothing from you; but I hope you are well again and your cold, Mitzi, must be in this heat gone already. We, too, are, thank G. well. You must have heard that the American Consulate is closed, and no idea when one can get a visa from them; we just have to wait and see and hope for the best. 3 days ago we received a package with milk powder and tea from you and another one was indicated by the customs office; thank you very much. The latter I will pick up on Monday and see what’s in it. We are doubly happy as I did not expect them to arrive at all.

Whether the post still functions, I do not know, as we have not received anything from you; if the letters go by ship it will take even longer. Hopefully you spoke with Julius Kahn. Do they live far away from you? Tell Uncle Salomon that Sally Marxsohn in Fa. Baruch Marxsohn has passed away recently. Our fathers were cousins. I have no other news to report, the days are very hot around here and there will be soon harvest time here. How does your father like his new job? I have already written to you that Uncle Max is working in a wholesale business. He is happy that he does not have to work together with his son-in-law anymore. Hopefully Änne has recovered after the baby.

Greetings to all from me and warm kisses to you from your father and see you soon. Your father.
