Dear Martin and dear young lady,

By the time you get this letter you will be a happily married couple and I wish with all my heart that you two be forever happy and content; for what else can we give you from here, other than our very best wishes from the bottom of our hearts. Sometime life is really tough, and one must be prepared for everything; but as long as you love one another, it is easier to cope. Be so kind, dear Martin and try to find out about Aunt Hans; we are very worried if the poor woman can take much more.

About us there is not much to report, every day new upsets, but I won’t burden your new happiness with that, just don’t forget us in the meantime! Write to us about everything in detail, the wedding, your future home, so that we can partake in it. I received a letter from Lori; she would have liked to meet you in the summer in Chicago; she sounds quite happy. Gustav takes good care of her. We look forward to hearing from you soon; warm greetings Joh. Kossmann.

Dear Newlyweds,

I too say: Congratulations, dear Martin and Mitzi, to your engagement and wedding. May God bring you happiness for ever. I hope and wish that we see one another again in life, so God will. I wish that from my whole heart, your sister and sister-in-law Hede.
