Firmenbriefkopf Nr. 84 Gross-Gerau, den 25. März 1938

Lieber Martin

Aenne Hirsch erwartet auch bald was Kleines.

Vater..

Dear Martin,

Hope you are healthy which I can report (thank God) about us as well. The Salomon’s are moving on Tuesday and the Flörsheimer´s emigrated today; the community is shrinking from month to month.

I am not yet thinking of moving until I can rent out my house and live in Frankfurt from the money, I am in no hurry. As I was with the Flörsheimer´s this week, Leopold and Julius Kahn came with wives. At that time Julius took the opportunity to shake hands with me, so we are alright again. He must have realized that he had been wrong.

The Kauffmann’s are moving in next Tuesday. Today the flat will be finished. Tomorrow we all visit the “five Frankfurters” to see how well they are doing. Lina Hirsch will put all her furniture up for auction and will move to her brother Albert who already lives in Frankfurt. Anne Hirsch is expecting. Her husband has recently gone to the U.S.A. and they too will soon emigrate. Today I went to Schulz in Biebesheim and got a signature for the DBS (housing loans) Darmstadt and so I hope to get 2500 Marks from them in April. Otherwise there is nothing else new. Warm kisses from your Father.
