Groß-Gerau, d. 22. 11. 1937

Lieber Martin!

Mittwoch kommt Onkel Alex. Diese Woche fährt Herbert Wieseneck aus Darmstadt weg. In 14 Tagen packen Rudolfs (= die Familie Rudolf Kahn). Mitte Dec. fahren Sie ab. Hast Du Onkel.

Groß-Gerau, 11/22/1937

Dear Martin,

Hope you are doing well, just like me. I returned from my three-weeks-long visit to Bretten on Friday. I enjoyed it a lot since Albert’s wife and son are still there. Albert will come home this week. Yesterday, there again was a Sunday concert on behalf of the Jewish Winter Aid. The Mainzer Synagogue choir sang and Dr. Bienheim was there as well. The participants got coffee and cake after the concert. Trude, Hilde, Ruth, Betty and I served. It was very nice. Julius Kahn’s family visited Seligman in Worms yesterday and took the picture with them. Everybody liked it.

How does Karl like his new home? The people from Mainz came over yesterday and drove Aunt Hilda to us. Uncle Alex comes on Wednesday. Herbert Wieseneck is leaving from Darmstadt this week. The Rudolf Kahns are preparing to leave in 14 days. They travel mid-December. Hope you have not forgot Uncle Salomon’s Birthday. Johanna Kahn visited us today. They like it in Frankfurt. She tried to persuade Father to move to Frankfurt as well.

Please say hello to Walter Blum, Walter S., Karl and Bruno and Kurt from me. I would much appreciate if you all could send me a card. Did you have a great birthday party with them?

Has Karl told you about the wedding in Milwaukee? Trude Rosenthal, née Kahn is expecting her 2nd child. Hertha has left on Monday. Now, dear Martin, I will close my letter. Give my greetings to all. I hope you drink coffee and eat a good breakfast every morning. Warm greetings and kisses from your Sister Hede.

Berthel is waiting for her papers from Stuttgart.

Mr Grünebaum of Nierstein must report next week to St.(uttgart). Erna Krämer of D.(armstadt) is planning to emigrate in half a year.
