Firmenbriefkopf

Lieber Martin

Dear Martin,

Today I am not too tired to write you, although Father and Hede may have already given you all the details. Yesterday we had the Wieners over; it was lovely and they enjoyed it so much; I was so happy to see how they all loved the food. Uncle Max teased Frau Wiener and wanted to get her sloshed. It’s a pity we had a terrible rainstorm, so we could not go out; but we all delighted in the pleasant diversion.

Hopefully Father can visit you, it would be good to have this trip not in the middle of Summer, for it is even hotter there than here. Frau Kahn wrote to you promptly. Now you will get your things. There is nothing new here; one day goes by like the other. We are slowly getting our little garden organized. I got some forget-me-nots and daisies from Sannchen Schott. Everything is in full bloom; it is just that we can enjoy it so little. Father is never in the mood for an outing. Paul Oppenheimer has already got his apartment; they found a home really fast. But we have no idea what he is doing. Their successor is soon finished, very likely not too good!

Do you hear anything from Nussbaum?

Father is slowly getting ready for his trip with his clothing and linen, as he should come fairly soon to you. Now that the Flörsheimers have returned we again have some company, which we are always missing. Can you visit the Hirsch’s more often? The have surely found their way in the meantime? Please say hello to all our people and relatives and to you warm greetings from Joh. Kossmann.

Have you got letters from Aenne? Aunt Selma said Aenne had written that they were very happy about your letter and that you kept such a friendship.
