Lieber Martin

Dear Martin,

You must have surely got my letter of May 6, and Aunt Hans is now gone. Thank God we are all healthy which I hope you and all the people over there are too; I also hope you got news from Louisville in the meantime, if not, write to them already. As I heard today, the numbers 26,000 are on now so it is time that you send us ours. Best would be for you to send it by registered airmail to the US here and let me know right away when you have done so. You wrote recently that you want to do it on your own. I only other hand think it would be better if Harry did it with you, since he has done so the first time, or he no longer trusts the issue, for you always doubt him; perhaps ask Max Herz. Have you got in touch with Karl Kahn? His parents have packed their things today, even though they do not have their appointment yet. Either way, their papers are not quite right. The Gold family had a clever lawyer from New York, who told them exactly what to do and also took care of everything over there. His address is: Alfred Haas, Foreign Counsel? 50 Broad Street New York. If you think it helps, get in touch with him. Otherwise nothing new here, so take care of this right away and warm kisses from your father.

Get in touch once more with the cousin of Mrs Kossmann so that she too gets her sponsorship immediately, for this can only be done by a relative and it is only for an emergency situation; it is still doubtful whether she can go to Gina. Write to her at once as the old sponsorship had expired.
