Letter from Emil, October 18, 1936

Briefkopf der Firma 18. Oktober 1936

Nr. 15

Lieber Martin,

(Joh. Kossmann)

Number 15

Dear Martin,

In response to your letter number 13, I can share with you that we're all healthy, thanks to God. On Thursday, Job brought back from Wiesbaden the photos that you sent for development, and I'll give them all to Karl Kahn. I've enclosed the letter from Bodmer and you must give me exact instructions on what we should order for you. I've taken care of the business with R.A. Rice in Darmstadt. Instead of 70 Marks, I've given him 20 Marks. Today was the distribution date for Barthel and we received our entire payment (2871 Marks). Hopefully the deadline for Schneider on Friday will also come out well. Business is generally still quiet.

Salli was in Stuttgart on Friday, and it went well. As Job says, he'll travel only in January as he wants to first get his business matters in order. Job and Else were in Lonsheim yesterday, and all are also healthy there. On Saturday, Werner Schott (Moritz's son) was bar mitzvahed. He was handsomely rewarded with gifts, from us a [????]. I got the Olympics stamps with the brown ribbon today, I ordered them already three months ago, and they can't be had today. I got them from the National Post Office in Berlin, and they cost 3.50 Marks - commercially at least 10 Marks. Otherwise nothing new here. Greetings to all the relatives and a big kiss from your Father.

I hope you're enjoying your new job and that you'll have chances to get ahead. Hoping for a detailed report in your next letter.
