Frankfurt, a/m d. 7. XI 1939

Dear Martin,

Thank God we are well and hope you are as well. I have not heard anything from you since your card of Set 28 from Corpus. I very much look forward to a detailed letter about your business contract, about the whole business, whether it brings in enough to feed two families and all the other circumstances. Have you already found nice clients? Make sure you contact Uncle Max; he brought you such a nice present; as well, for Lore Gold. The parents of Lore Gold have been requested to send in their papers and for sure they will have their appointment in Stuttgart in December. The Jewish organization received a letter this week that all up to the No 16,000 should send in their papers to Stuttgart; so I hope next year it will be our turn, too. Once we are that far, you might have to send a new sponsorship or a proof by a notary that you can still sponsor us like before. In addition, in all the sponsorship documents my name is mentioned as Emil M. while all my papers here, according to my proof of birth are for Michael. You will have to change that when the time comes as you must not forget they check everything very thoroughly in Stuttgart.

Ida Hirsch of Mainz let us know today that she will leave only Dec 24 from Genoa. Yesterday I had a few gentlemen over for Skat which is now my main task; evenings we play Rummy with the ladies. I never go out in the evening and by 10:00 I am in bed. Also I read more books now, for I have never before had time or patience. That’s it for today. Warm kisses from your father.

I look forward to your airmail as soon as possible. This is my third one; hopefully you had received them all. Greetings from Hede and Mrs Kossmann as well.
