Firmenbriefkopf No. 19. auf deinen No.17 15. November 1936

Lieber Martin

Herzl. Gruß und Kuß v. d. Vater

Gruß an alle Lieben

Letter 19, in response to your 17 November 15, 1936

Dear Martin,

This afternoon and evening, we drank a bottle of wine to your health and your fortune in the U.S.A. I imagine you were also invited somewhere today and got a fitting celebration of your 25th birthday. We've already wished you all the best in the last letter, and we'll hope that everything went well. I recently sent you a sausage as a test sample, and you'll need to pick this up at the customs office. Hopefully, the duty won't be more than the sausage is worth! I'll give Rudolf Kahn's boys two more sausages to take for you too, as well as the other things you wanted, which I'll pick up tomorrow in Wiesbaden. They're also going on your ship (Hamburg) on December 3rd from Cuxhaven. But I'm very curious if you've gotten the two little packets of confections, as I've sent them to you without accompanying documents.

Yesterday (Saturday evening) a telegram from Karl Kahn arrived from New York, saying he'd arrived okay, perhaps you'll already have heard from him by the time these lines reach you. Yesterday Gustel F. left us, she went to the Moguntia Cheese Producer.

Hede is out in Bretten and Heidelberg for a few days. Curt left Slovakia yesterday and will arrive tomorrow evening in Amsterdam, where he'll initially stay with relatives, and hopes to then make it to America. If he finds something there though, he'll stay, though I imagine that will be very difficult. I got only the binoculars in Wiesbaden today, the Vootu enlarger I'll get tomorrow, and I couldn't get the Contax, as they don't have it in feet, but they'll order it, and I'll then give it to Sally.

Warmest greetings and a kiss from your Father

Greetings to all our loved ones.
